Houston Insulation is your Preferred Retro-Fit Insulation Contractor
About AIS Houston Injection Foam Insulation
AIS Houston Injection spray foam makes it easy to retro fit older homes, attics and finished basements that lack insulation with spray foam insulation. Injection foam requires drilling small holes in the wall cavity so that the foam may be injected. Injection foam will fill voids and cavities around electrical wiring, plumbing and windows without having to remove plaster or drywall.
The injection foam process makes it easier and quicker to install from the outside of the building. Specially-trained professionals from AIS Houston install the injection foam by drilling a small hole and injecting the wall cavity with spray foam.
The hole is filled and the exterior siding is then patched, repaired or replaced, depending on the exterior wall material.
Injection foam applications include insulation for walls, roofs, basements, and window and door frames. The unique nature of this spray on foam is that is can conform to any shape or size and fill in virtually all cracks, crevices and holes.
A Few Facts About Injection Foam:

AIS Houston Injection Foam Benefits
Home and business owners can immediately enjoy the benefits of injection foam insulation. Most applications are complete in less than one day.
As with all spray foam insulation, injection foam is fire-resistant, water-resistant, and environmentally friendly. AIS Houston Injection foam offers the best quality insulation for existing homes; it has the highest R value on the market and creates a superior sound barrier.
Since injection foam creates a vapor barrier and seals any cracks where air and moisture would otherwise leak into your home, it makes it an ideal application for basements and foundations.
Retrofitting a home or building improves your heating and cooling efficiency and saves money.
AIS Houston New Technology Building Science
A vented attic situation will become approximately 130-140 degrees in the summer. There's no reason for your air-conditioning and vent-ductwork to have to work in that type of severe conditions. There is also opportunity for moisture to form due to condensation on these appliances.
By applying spray foam directly to the underside of the roof deck, it now insulates the attic space from the extreme heat that once radiated thorough the hot shingles sheathing and roof. The severe temperatures no longer exist in the attic. In short, the attic now becomes a passively "conditioned" space of the house that is just as comfortable as any other room in the home.
A roof system insulated with AIS Houston spray foam reduces energy several ways. Energy loss from ducts located in the attic is essentially eliminated. The top of the building is much tighter resulting in less infiltration and exfiltration, so excess moisture isn't pulled into the attic. Infiltration through the ceiling is also reduced. In addition, the attic temperature is remarkably lower, which further reduces energy loads.
AIS Houston Crawlspace Remediation
There may not be an area of the home that creates a bigger hazzard to the occupants health than that of a typical crawlspaces.
Most homes with crawlspaces are not properly insulated for moisture control and this can pose health concerns for the occupants, especially children.
Lack of properly sealed and insulated crawlspace can allow dealdy and odorless gases to affect occupants. It can also become breeding ground for insects, rodents and mold. In addition, it could cause damage to the foundation and the floor system.
The Solution
Crawl space encapsulation involves sealing the under side of the floor with a Closed Cell Polyurethane spray foam appliation and covering the ground using a tough 15-20 mil, reinforced polyethylene sheeting (not some thin 6 mil poly) taped carefully at the seams and adhered to the top or bottom of the concrete foundation wall.
Sealing up all ventilation entering the crawl space is a specification 'if' it is decided that ventilation is not neccessary for mechanicals. Sealed below this sheeting are soil gases, moisture, water vapor and odors that typically would be drawn up into the living space above.
How AIS Houston Radiant Barriers Work
How can Fi-Foils radiant insulation help? One of the best solutions for all homes is an attic radiant barrier, a product that can significantly reduce attic temperatures, improve HVAC efficiency, save energy, and positively affect the comfort in your home.

Home Inspection, Performance & Energy Management
AIS Houston products work with professional energy efficient engineers to create efficient designs for each individual project. From the plans of your home, an energy analysis and an accurate heat loss calculation can be created which will enable you to see the energy savings before your home is built. Also, the analysis and design specification will guide the mechanical contractor to properly size your heating, ventilating, and cooling systems, which will most likely save you more money.
AIS Houston Duct Leakage Testing
There are more than a million miles of duct work in U.S. homes. And industry experts estimate that more than two-thirds of them are leaky enough to justify sealing or repair. Leaky ducts can significantly increase air conditioning and heating bills, dramatically reduce equipment capacity and performance, as well as result in potentially dangerous indoor air quality problems. In fact, duct leakage is responsible for many of the comfort complaints experienced by homeowners today.
